Project detail: custom hand drawn type for Friends Unite
For the upcoming Friends Unite interactive site, we designed a custom typeface which was hand drawn by myself. The type derived from the process of sharing ideas wherever you are and jotting them down on anything you can: napkins, scrap paper, your hand, etc. It also gives the site an informal and friendly feeling. That no idea is wrong, too small, or impossible. We wanted to make any type of person regardless of age, education, or location, feel that they could contribute to Friends Unite and share ideas with others. This site will be the first building block to many new charities and projects which the graphic design and hand drawn typography and elements represent.
